Birthday Girl

It was Jenn's birthday this weekend and we had so much fun. I feel very blessed to be in a relationship where we make each other so happy!

I always knew my forever did not
exist the same as yours
School busses and white picket fences
never spoke to me

Day after day after day
I want to explore what this life
has to offer
where all the sidewalks end
and the freedom begins

Greedy with my life
I want to live different places
write about new spaces
Live all there is to live
each and every day

The wild side always agreed with me
Dancing back and forth
to the edge and over
Whispering "what's next?"

Day after day after day
With a gypsy soul
one day you just know
it's time to pack your bags
and let the present go

New Orleans

Headed to NOLA for the week to do site visits in preperation for the ZC 2011. Should be a fun but busy week with the team. I get back Friday afternoon in time for a rowdy evening! Suicide City is reuniting and playing their first show back together in almost two years and then my BFF's are having their Birthday celebration that night. It promises to be a good week!

Other book of the week :)

Anthony Keidis has lived a really interesting life. I am only halfway thru this one but it is a great story to read so far!

Book of the Week

This is not a book about dieting. It is a book about getting healthy. About learning to listen to your body without all the processed crap running through it. Without a 12 pack of beer every other day, without a bunch of "smoke" clouding your brain. This book is really helping me to think of health in a whole new way and I am thankful for it. If you have been feeling down or crappy or unhealthy give this book a whirl. It is well written and funny and smart. Kris has a way of helping you see what the reality is when it comes to what is nourishing to your body and soul and what is bringing you down.

Unbearable Lightness

Never have I read a more accurate account of the craziness that is an eating disorder. Most people have no idea about the obsession that can take over your life and starve you from soul to body. This book is told with such truth it had me in tears, Portia shares the secrets that so many women have tried to deny and hide. I applaud her courage and hope this book helps people to understand the craziness is not in them but in the disease.

I choose this picture because I read it on my new kindle which I have to say is awesome to ride the subway with. I know there are a lot of gadgets out there these days but this one is working real well for this lady.
